Singing Begins with Choice™
Singing Begins with Choice™ — The Breath You Choose: Workshop
A 2-Hour Live Online Workshop
Register for The Breath You Choose: Workshop Today! If you have ever been told to “breathe from the diaphragm,” “use more breath support,” or “just take a deeper breath” and felt confused or unsure about what your body is actually supposed to do, you’re not alone.
You may also have questions like:
- Am I supposed to breathe into my belly?
- How much breath do I need when I sing high notes?
- What does “breath support” actually mean, and how do you “do” it?
The Breath You Choose is designed to clear up that confusion with accurate information about the body and practical tools you can use to improve your breathing for singing today.
In this workshop, Kurleen uses an anatomy and movement-informed approach, incorporating images, movement, breathing and vocal exercises, and singing to explore:
- How the lungs, diaphragm, ribs, pelvic floor muscles, and abdominal muscles function together during breathing—and how to work with this system consciously for singing
- What “breath support” means and what it involves
- How unnecessary tension can interfere with breathing for singing and how to reduce it
- How different breathing choices can influence vocal tone, agility, and ease
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clearer understanding of your breathing system and feel more confident making breathing choices that support your singing.
Who Is This For?
Singers 18 and older, from developing singers through working professionals.
No previous anatomy knowledge is needed.
