As your voice teacher, my goal is to partner with you and help you reach your singing goals. Through my teaching philosophy, Singing Begins with Choice™, I help singers develop greater awareness of their instrument, explore accurate information through movement and singing, and learn to make informed choices that work best for their own voice and the sound they want to create.

I believe there is no one "right" way to sing. Every singer is unique, and the more we understand how our own instrument works, the more choices we have available to serve our expressive musical intentions. My role is not to tell you how you should sing. It is to give you the information and experiences that help you better understand your own voice.

My teaching is rooted in an anatomy and movement-informed approach to singing. For more than ten years, I have studied Body Mapping with a licensed Body Mapping Educator, although I am not a licensed Body Mapping Educator myself. Body Mapping has had a tremendous influence on how I understand movement, coordination, and learning, and it continues to shape the way I teach. Rather than simply explaining concepts, I use movement, guided exploration, vocal exercises, and singing to help students experience how their own instrument works.

In addition to my studies in Body Mapping, I hold a Master's degree in Teaching and a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. For more than a decade, I have taught private voice and speaking lessons, elementary general music, choir, and general education while also maintaining an active professional performing career spanning more than twenty years.

Although my formal training is in opera, I am a crossover singer whose career has taken me across a wide range of musical styles. Throughout my career, I have been hired to perform opera, musical theatre, R&B, and other contemporary commercial styles, as well as the music of my Caribbean heritage, including reggae and French Caribbean music.

Performing across these genres has deepened my understanding of the unique artistic and technical demands each style presents. This broad experience enables me to work with singers from a variety of musical backgrounds while helping each singer choose what works best for their own voice and the sound they want to create.

Whether you are just beginning your singing journey or have been performing for years, my goal is the same: to provide accurate information, meaningful opportunities for exploration, and a supportive learning environment where you can grow in confidence and develop a deeper understanding of your voice.

Singing has brought me so much joy throughout my life. It is my space to express my emotions freely and completely. I feel blessed to have this gift, and I love sharing it with others through performing and teaching. I look forward to sharing it with you.
